“The definitions of a book is changing,” a beautiful quote by one of the biggest innovators and second richest man on the planet, Jeff Preston Bezos (Amazon CEO). The digital age, the 4th Industrial Revolution in the world that bought forward people like Bezos, Zuckerberg, is one of the biggest leaps up the ladder of Industrial Revolutions. This age brought about the era of cellphones and apps like Amazon, Facebook, Google, Instagram etc. Now-a-days our life revolves around these social apps which relieve us from many of our day to day duties. Doing a background check on this age, which is known as the information age, is defined as the time period starting in the 1970’s (20th century) with the introduction of subsequent technology providing the ability to transfer information freely and quickly.
It introduced the concepts of digital computers and digital record keeping that continues to the present day. There are many tech companies that came during this era which have made life so easy that it’s impossible for to do anything without them. These companies are Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, Ola, Uber, Alibaba, Infosys, Tencent, Google, etc. Earlier people used to ask adults a topic they did not know of, now they just google it. Amazon provides almost all products we need and they are delivered right at our doorstep (It’s a-Z!)
We have millions of followers on Facebook, Instagram, and we post there about our daily life. Alibaba is a site where many products are available at ½ price. Now we don’t have to go to a stand for taxis, we can just click a few buttons and our ride arrives. This is the power of all these apps that are currently ruling over our lives. The thoughts put in by these amazing innovators who just thought of a simple idea — how can our lives be made easy? How can people all over the world interact with each other? These simple questions and the urge to make it happen has today given us a world full of digital instruments. These instruments have made our life so easy that by just tapping on our screen four times, we can get a taxi, our vegetables, our books, make new friends, promote our companies. Now, I would like to end with this amazing quote by Larry Paige (Founder of Google), “In technology, we need revolutionary change and incremental change.”
