‘THE NUCLEAR RACE OF TODAY’ By Aanya Mehra

‘A few people laughed, a few people cried and most people were silent’, a famous quote by J Robert Oppenheimer describes the aftermath of Hirshima Nagasaki bombing in the year 1945 ending WWII. Interestingly, main reason why the nuclear race to start was Einstein’s brain and his discovery of mass energy production. Hadn’t he created that formula ‘E = mc2’ there wouldn’t have been any war amongst people which led death of many . Currently, the Iran-Nuclear deal tension is it at its peak. On one side are innumerable tensions between Mr. Trump and Mr. Rouhani, while on the other side North Korea just won’t stop testing missiles!

Russia, with dreadful incidents in the history like Chernobyl is a perfect example of the nuclear race today. As we all know, this incident killed millions of people due to the strapping radiations which were so strong that they travelled all the way to Sweden.

The Nuclear race is a race in which countries all around the globe are competing with each other, in order to entitle themselves as the country with the maximum number of nuclear weapons. It is basically a race with a lot of tension and just because of this small competition, a lot of damage and destructions have taken place around the world.

All these small-small tensions have led to great wars around the world; people are dying all around the world in the blink of an eye. The nuclear arms race is back and even more menacing. If this race won’t stop it can soon lead to WWIII and the whole world will be in a state of demolition.
